Farm Idea
An idea I’d like to develop more would be based upon the zoo
idea I had before. This time it would be around a farm. Much like the zoo, it
would have animals to include and this gives a lot of opportunities to create
animated events.
There would be a large environment to explore and many
things to find. Animals could be hiding in places and walking past could
trigger an action, prompting the player to explore the area they are in to find
it. Animals could include horses, pigs, sheep, cows, and chickens. It could be
a nice detail to have birds flying in the background to keep the environment
moving. Machinery like tractors could even be interacted with. The character
could be a farmer or even an animal that gets out. This could give it a
different perspective and allow for more of a story. There would also be a lot
of opportunities to include sound from things in the environment, including the
animals. These could happen randomly and be prompted by events.
I would like to have some depth to it rather than being from
left to right. Creating some pathways that go up and down would help the
adventure side of things and make it more interesting to explore. If a
character moves to the top of the screen, I would like them to get smaller as
if they were further away. A similar thing would occur if they went down on the
screen. This would also apply to sound with distant sounds being quieter and
closer things being louder.
With these ideas in mind, I would like to directly apply
these ideas by coming up with some rough sketches and drafts for some kind of
plot. As well as this, I would also like to keep a target audience in mind
while finalising my idea.
